you guys do know that there are normal products for these things right?
yeah - but check the price of the dedicated stuff for these things as opposed to the prices for these store cupboard items!! plus most of these things are items folks will have in the cupboard without having to make a special trip out :)
Get off the internet paid disinformation troll. These products are much safer than all those chemicals designed to keep taking our money and not really helping.
And you know this list works because you've tried every one of them, and had others try them and confirm that this isn't just some made up list by some asshole of a troll? Some of these applications seem... "improbable" at best. Like the AS-UTI cure, or the Vinegar-Bruise cure. Not saying they don't work. I'd just suggest before trying *any* of them that you check this thing out on Snopes.
The toothpaste one is a big NO NO. Never put anything on a burn, except for cold water for ten minutes to stop the burning. You can cover it with gauze but nothing greasy or pasty. The alka-seltzer one is because it controls the acidity in your body, and first cause for infection is acidity, which enables bacterias to proliferate in your weakened system. The Gatorade one? Well, most headaches are caused by dehydration. Hence the rehydration. And the vanishing of the headache.
And just when and where did you get your Medical Degree? Just curious.
It's not a medical degree, but experience. I burned myself on the stove once, and my uncle told me to put toothpaste on it. It burned worse. I don't know about the rest of it, though.
I agree with toothpaste being a big no because it's a mild abrasive. And burns are sensitive, no way I'm putting toothpaste on one.Heck, people use it to polish CD's and foggy car headlights.
you do know that cold water on a burn is the actual no no right? cold water applied to a burn will cause it to blister. If you have an aloe plant growing in your home break off a piece of one of the fronds (leaves) apply the "juice" to the burn to soothe the pain.
You have to put some water, maybe not icy cold, but you do have to put cool water so that the burn doesn't extend deeper into the tissu.
The best think for a burn is an aloe plant. I would not be without one. I am always burnin myself. I also keep liquid aloe. It is a wonderful product and good for so many things. I burned my hand very badly one night and hubby grabbed the aloe plant and all evening we kept rubing it with the aloe, next day it was gone and did not hurt at all after putting the aloe on. The burn was bad enough hubby wanted me to go to the hospital.
The Navajo Indians prepare a salve from Pinon trees and something else, put a bit on a burn, no blistering, no more pain, no scars nearly a miracle preparation. I know a maintence man who uses toothpase for repairing holes in the walls when people move out.
And I'll add...hairspray. Especially Aquanet for killing bugs. If you don't have bug killer, spray the little buggers and they just stick to the surface and suffocate...muahahahaha!
Clever!I did that with some stray wasps that snuck into our house. Also. Febreze incapacitates bees/wasps. I hate them. EEK.My boyfriend used that with the first wasp got in the house. He soaked it with febreze, and it dropped twitching. Of course he killed it quite promptly before it got up and stung the crap out of us. I don't know if the type matters, but we have those cans that constantly spray. "Febreze Air Effects"Eliminates stinging pests, and foul odors. :)
Hey buddy(Jeff), I am the anonymous you replied to...you don't need a medical degree to know these facts, you just have to be informed, have some life experience, have an education, read, you know, that kind of stuff and also having a valid first aid certification will do the trick. I have to do mine every 3 years, so there you go.
}}} you don't need a medical degree to know these facts, you just have to be informedAgreed, but so far you haven't really given any reason for anyone to believe you're actually informed over and above any troll that might be out there. No, not saying you're a troll. Just that there's no evidence you aren't, either. If you actually HAVE any life experience, you'd know that there ARE lots of assholes who'd get off on "confirming" something they knew was total BS.;-)
... as well as idiots too clueless to know how truly ignorant they are.So: check to see what Snopes has to say about this. While they do tend to be left leaning on political topics, this isn't one of those, so they're likely to be pretty reliable if they have anything to say about this list, and I'll bet they do.
